About Modern Health Calculator

Modern Health Calculator started from a simple frustration many people share: wanting to understand your own BMI, calorie needs, or body composition without wading through confusing medical jargon or handing over personal data to sign up for yet another app.

I built this site to be straightforward — free, accurate calculators paired with clear, practical articles that explain what your numbers actually mean and what to do with them.

Who's Behind This Site

Modern Health Calculator is independently built and maintained by me — a content creator focused on making health and fitness information genuinely useful, not just technically accurate. I'm not a medical professional, and this site isn't a substitute for one. What I do is carefully research established, widely accepted formulas — like the Mifflin-St Jeor equation for metabolic rate and the U.S. Navy method for body fat estimation — and build tools and articles around them that are easy to actually use.

How the Calculators Are Built

Every calculator on this site uses a recognized, published formula rather than a custom or unverified calculation. The BMI and calorie calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, widely regarded as one of the most reliable methods for estimating basal metabolic rate. The Body Fat Percentage Calculator uses the U.S. Navy circumference method, a long-established tape-measurement formula used in fitness and military contexts for decades.

All calculations run directly in your browser. Nothing you enter — your weight, height, measurements, or any other input — is stored, tracked, or sent anywhere. You can use every calculator on this site with complete privacy.

Our Approach to Content

A number alone rarely helps anyone. That's why every calculator here is paired with articles that explain the "why" behind your results — what a healthy BMI range actually means, why body fat percentage often tells a more complete story than weight alone, and practical, realistic habits for improving your numbers over time. I'd rather publish fewer, well-researched articles than a large volume of thin, generic content.

A Note on Medical Advice

The calculators and articles on this site are educational tools, built on established formulas and general health guidelines. They are not medical devices, and they don't replace personalized advice from a doctor, dietitian, or other qualified healthcare professional. If you have a specific health condition or are planning a significant lifestyle change, please consult a professional who can consider your individual situation.
